Solidarity message to all the political prisoners
Solidarity message to all the political prisoners from the intermediate conference of the International Red Aid - 2014
A solidary and combative salute to all the political prisoners!
The objective situation and the worsening contradictions of the vicious circle of the capitalist crisis open new resistance opportunities which the growing repression tries to stop. The only right answer to this repression must be to continue the development of the revolutionary process. The building and the mobilisation of the international solidarity is part and parcel of this process. With our project of building the International Red Aid, we are trying to support this solidarity.
Again, during this year, the development of the international solidarity continued to take shape in our organisation. Since 14 years, the process of the building of the International Red Aid relies on the idea that the solidarity with the political prisoners must be a sphere where the various opinions have to fade away as much as possible. It is not a matter of denying these political differences, but of understanding that there are spheres where they can be more or less strongly present. As the revolutionary movement needs political, ideological and strategic debates, it also needs unity in fundamental questions such as resistance against repression and solidarity with prisoners.
Even if, on this path, we face some difficulties, we can however see that we are making headways in the building process.
You, as prisoners, take a special role in this process, being the most evident proof of the counter-revolution. You are still in jail, partly as hostages, as the communist prisoner Georges Ibrahim Abdallah in France or the anarchist prisoner Marco Camenisch in Switzerland. Considering the prison as your collective fighting and resistance field, we will never stop to fight for your freedom.
Talking about that, things are on the move for Georges Abdallah’s release: three French cities have given him honorary citizenship. Since 30 years, Georges is detained in France, the USA and France preventing his release. This is the reason why - at our own initiative - an international action day for Georges Ibrahim Abdallah has taken place in July last year. Prisoners and groups from five countries actively participated in the action. The proposal for a common platform of the political prisoners emerged from this mobilisation.
Still today, there are attacks on leftist movements at various levels:
- A clear aspect of them is the situation of the two PCp-m prisoners in Italy. They have been completely forbidden any communication after their intervention in favor of the NO-TAV movement and the prisons’ struggles in Italy. The repressive attacks are also directed against the
NO-TAV movement: on May, 22nd, a trial will start in Turin against four activists accused of terrorism.
- In Germany, there are investigations against nine activists. They are accused of being part of a militant organisation which, in 2009, organized actions against state and repressive institutions. In this framework, there were loads of spying and searches.
A very present-day instance for the class justice is the Greek project of detaining political and insurgent prisoners in an isolation jail - as with the F-type prisons in Turkey. The troïka and NATO have always tried to break the prisoners’ collectives. Not only the prisoners of various movements in Greece and elsewhere, but also the people outside are mobilizing against this project. As International Red Aid, we will support these mobilisations with all our strength.
It is becoming very clear that the repression worsens more and more. Once again, we see that it is necessary to promote the exchange and the international coordination which, finally, must also lead to a commun organisation of the international solidarity.
Please, get implicated in this organisation. Best salutations with our raised fist.
