Declaring our solidarity – Network Freedom for All Political Prisoners
Stop the trials against the 4 members of Secours Rouge Belgique!
Framing them is framing us! Defend the SRI-RHI activists!
On January 25th 2012 the Belgian Justice Counsil will decide on whether or not to endorse trial against Abdel, Bertrand, Constant and Wahoub of the Secours Rouge (Belgium).
Back in 2007, February 12th, several activist were arrested in a coordinated police raid in both Italy and Swiss. This repressive action was aimed at the Italian PC p-m, organisation for constituting a political-military communist party.
Sindicalists, students, anti-war activists and political activists as well as an underground fugitive were arrested.
One year later, on June 5th 2008, four activists of Secours Rouge Belgique were arrested and accused of having had contact with the Italian PC p-m, then detained for several weeks.
Thanks to the solidary efforts, both local and international (Swiss, Germany, Spain), they were released from classist detention.
Bertrand, one of the arrestees, is an ex-member of the Belgian underground guerilla-group CCC (fighting communist cells), as well as present member of the SRI-RHI international secretariat and comission for constituting the Red Help. He stands for the a continuous political struggle and therefore represents an annoyance for the internationalised repression. He is repeatedly targeted by their counter-revolutionary attacks.
This attack on the Secours Rouge Belgique has to be seen as part of an international campaign against the SRI-RHI. The attacks have come in form of several coordinated raids and arrests spanning accross borders in Italy, Swiss and Belgium. In Spain there have already been trials againszt members of the Socorro Rojo Internacional. Andrea, a Swiss activist was endighted last autumn and sentenced to 17 months in prison.
Individuals are hit, but we're all targets!
These attacks fit in a long line of repressive actions against political activist who fundamentally oppose the present capitalist system. They are supposed to individualise single activists and sentence them to eliminate their struggle. In Germany, comrades with a background of past armed struggles are repeatedly criminalised and attacked. Last year two ex-members of the RZ (revolutionary cells) were arrested after over 30 years of persecution and 10 ex-members of the RAF (red army faction) were threatened with punitive detention (for not cooperating with the courts); which was avoided by their united effort. Right now one of them, incurably ill Christa Eckes, is still under threat of detention.
This repression is supposed to scare individual activists off and keep different generations of activists from coordinating. Therefore we call for the Left in Germany to mind the developments in Belgium, to keep an eye on the Belgian trials and support the 4 targeted comrades!
Be solidary: build up pressure to lay the case against the 4 members of SRB to rest on january 25th. There will be a demonstration in Brussels on Tuesday, January 24th, 2012, on Parvis St Gilles.
On January 25th the Justice Council will decide on whether or not to endorse the case against the Four of the SRB.
