A project of the Commission of RHI
On the initiative of revolutionary prisoners on the 5. and 6. July and a project of the Commission of RHI
1.
The commission for a Red Help International (Brussels / Zürich) is a structure of struggle against the counterrevolution which:
1° Sees itself as a political revolutionary force and therefore understands the question of repression as a specific arena of struggle which is part of the more general confrontation between revolution/ counterrevolution.
2° Sees itself as above resp. outside of the contradictions between revolutionary tendencies so as to support the revolutionary camp in the arena of international solidarity and against repression. In this arena the necessity of unity is extraordinarily important. In front of this background our commission works with different structures from different countries for the construction of a Red Help International.
2.
The aspects concerning the commission for a Red Help International contains all forms of political repression. In a period of crisis of capitalism and the aggravation of class contradictions all forms of repression are displayed and intensified: letting go of union workers, the prohibition of demonstrations in the streets/of the occupation of public space, the list is long.
One aspect which has always been of central importance for our commissions and which concentrates the dialectics of struggle/repression on a very high level is that of the revolutionary prisoners.
And in our understanding of work against repression we aim to include the revolutionary prisoners as struggling and valuable part of the revolutionary movement.
According to our concept international and revolutionary solidarity and the political-ideological position is part of the construction of a revolutionary international movement.
3.
These elements lead us to give collective activities of solidarity by the revolutionary prisoners (e.g. the international days of action for Georges Ibrahim Abdallah on the past 5. and 6. July) a very big importance.
On this occasion prisoners from different tendencies (anarchists communists, , anti-imperialists), different countries (Switzerland, Morocco, Germany, Italy, Greece) intervened together with different methods (mainly hungerstrikes) to contribute to the days of actions.
Doing this they confirmed that they always were and are a subjective part of the balance of power and that imprisonment will not lock them out of the struggle.
4.
A first attempt in this sense was the ‘Plattform of the 19. June 1999’ (see the text attached) which united 95 communist, anarchist, antifascist and anti-imperialist prisoners from Germany, Greece, Russia, Italy, Switzerland, Turkey, France and Spain. Different collective initiatives were executed and the proceedings of unity under the prisoners led to unifications outside the prisons as part of a dialectic which strengthened both sides and which has been a point of reference for our commission since its formation in December 2000.
The developement and the influence of this experience have shown the importance and use of this experience. The crisis which ended it served as a lesson and helped to better define and respect the principles of our commission.
5.
We think that the conditions for a new process of unification of the struggles of revolutionary prisoners has come.
Naturally it is up to the revolutionary prisoners themselves to define what they want and can do in this sense. But we assured them our absolute support. It would be a priority for us to support such an initiative as it lies at the heart of various principles which are central to us: the necessity of unity against bourgeois repression, the understanding of the struggle against repression as part of revolutionary struggle, the construction of a dialectic between the revolutionary prisoners and the forces outside for the benefit of a international revolutionary process.
Greetings to all the imprisoned comrades
Destroy capitalism ! Construct international class-solidarity!
