REPRESSION WON’T STOP NOTAV STRUGGLE
TERRORIST IS THE STATE!
The action against TAV (project for high speed railway Turin-Lyon), developing since more than 20 years by then, is the history of a struggle widely rooted at Val di Susa, based on various self-organized struggle forms, lead also highly in conflict and outside the framework of bourgeois limits of system compatibilities, which succeeded so far to stop the construction of this “big work”.
NoTav struggle isn’t any “simple” criticism movement, but a true resistance movement proving during the years its fierce and constant determination to oppose, without getting involved by the different institutional and mediation centres, the violence of bourgeois state, which is intent, on the contrary, on giving precedence to the economic and speculative interests of present capitalists. This is a people’s struggle that, alongside initiatives involving mass and raising awareness, has always brought also a practice suitable to counter the violence exercised by the oppressors, who on several occasions heavily attacked and criminalized the struggle using the repression and the jail.
We would remind some of the most evident repressive actions striking the No Tav struggle, in order to stress the continuous attacks made by the state:
- march 1998 – three anarchist comrades, Sole, Baleno and Silvano, are charged and arrested, accused of belonging to an association with terrorist purposes and of subverting democracy, following some sabotages occurred at Val di Susa between 1996 and 1998 against electric switchboards, phone exchanges, Sitaf installations, drills and a Mediaset relay station;
- night between december 5 and 6, 2005 – cops violently break into the Venaus garrison, set up by No Tav movement as a firm reply to the expropriations pursuant to the to site building
- june 27, 2011 – cops evacuate with coercion the Chiomonte permanent garrison, renamed “Free Republic of the Maddalena”, to deliver the area to the company charged with the geognostic drills pursuant to the works;
- july 3, 2011 – during Chiomonte demonstration participated by 60,000 people, rough clashes oppose protesters and guards when demonstrators try to reoccupy the area of Chiomonte former permanent garrison;
- january 26, 2012 – a wide repressive operation starts, bringing into jail 26 people, following the struggle action days on june 27 and july 3, 201l:
- december 9, 2013 – the investigators in charge, Padalino and Rinaudo pertaining to Turin power of attorney, heirs of bastard Caselli, make a sharp “step forward” as to repression against NoTav struggle, arresting four comrades (three men and a woman) Claudio, Mattia, Niccolò and Chiara, charging them with participation, during the night between may 13 and 14, 2013, to a sabotage action against Chiomonte site and advancing against them the heavy accusations of “terrorism”.
The constant repression, lead by the state towards the No Tav struggle movement, intended to bring it back within the limits of system compatibilities, by criminalizing the resistance and trying to weaken the struggle through a distinction between the “goodies” and the “baddies”, through the territories militarization and the use of truncheons on protesters during the demonstrations, didn’t serve to stop the struggle, since the movement has always firmly reacted to the repressive operations, on the one hand keeping on and relaunching the struggle practice, on the other hand promoting solidarity with all those struck by the repressive actions of the state.
Within a context of sharp capitalistic crisis marked by a strong attack on proletarians life conditions, beside the generalized repression against the struggles and the resistance, by means of charges of crimes during demonstrations (devastation, plunder, crime apology in case of “incompatible” slogans, outrage, resistance and violence), a more targeted repression comes up, through the associative crimes, aimed at striking all those struggling, organizing themselves against this system based on exploitation and oppression, such as anarchists, communists, antifascists and anti-imperialists.
It’s clear how the state acts using repression and jail to whoever may become a political reference from a revolutionary point of view. In recent times countless investigations are taking place on anarchist comrades. Jails hold revolutionary prisoners, who are an integral part of the struggle and keep on with maintaining their political identity, though being submitted to hard detention conditions.
The revolutionary prisoners, Davanzo Alfredo and Sisi Vincenzo, at a prison high security section (Siano-Catanzaro) following the operation ”Tramonto” in 2007, are presently affected by a measure of censure actually involving block/seizure of correspondence. Such a censure is representative of a true retaliation by the state in reply to their document in September 2013 on sundry topics, including the repression and the No Tav struggle.
Facing this repressive measure it should be stressed the class solidarity to both comrades, to the same extent it’s expressed to whom is struck by the repression.
On may 22, 2014 will start the trial against the comrades Claudio, Mattia, Niccolò and Chiara and the No Tav movement is organizing some solidarity actions at Turin within the first audience in the bunker chamber of Vallette jail.
We reiterate the call to participate in the initiatives to confirm the class solidarity to the four imprisoned comrades, claiming No Tav movement resistance under its different forms to oppose a capitalist project, without making any compromise and keeping close also against the repression and the jail, so becoming an example for all those are struggling and resisting the worsening of their life conditions.
Turn the trial against No Tav struggle into a struggle trial!
Free Claudio, Mattia, Niccolò and Chiara! Solidarity to all No Tav investigated!
Resistance now and forever!
Solidarity to all revolutionary prisoners and to all struggling prisoners!
Smash the capitalism!
