HUNGER STRIKE OF NIKOS MAZIOTI
HUNGER STRIKE OF NIKOS MAZIOTI, MEMBER OF THE REVOLUTIONARY STRUGGLE, DURING THE STRUGGLE OF THE POLITICAL PRISONERS
For the past 15 years and especially after the war outbreak against “terrorism”, the capitalistic system internationally has adopted more totalitarian characteristics, in order to impose the dictatorship of markets, the interests of supra-national financial elite which have emerged from the procedure of system’s globalization after the end of the two poles. In this context, the repression, the armor of the penal and legal arsenal of the states in the new globalized environment against the political enemies of the new order of things and especially against the threat of armed revolutionary action, has great importance and application for the reproduction of the system, especially the recent years after the outbreak of global financial crisis.
Greek state which is built in the supranational capital on the one hand has adopted the neoliberal reforms which are dictated by the European Union and on the other hand has upgraded the legal and penal arsenal to the demands of the international “counter-terrorist war”. For this reason; the government in 2001, has voted for the counter-terrorist law A, the article 187 of penal code (criminal organization). In 2009, soon after the uprising of December 2008 the government has voted for the anti-mask law, in 2010 has tightened the article 187A. In 2012, after a general attorney ordonnance, the government has imposed the violent dissociation of DNA and finally, during summer of 2014, has eventually voted as logical consequence of their repressive policy, the law for prisons type C for the political prisoners
All these years, this gradual upgrade of the state's repressive attack has been intensified in parallel with the neoliberal reforms of Greek governments. Moreover, this attack was intensified after the explosion of global financial crisis, the uprising of December 2008 and the country’s subjection to IMF, to European Union, and to European central bank by accepting the first Memorandum, in 2010.
For social majority, there is the delegitimation of the regime due to the social robbery that has been launched against the Greek society, which results to famish, poverty and misery for a great percentage of the population, to thousands deaths from suicides, from diseases, from the lack of basic goods, to thousands of homeless and to thousands of people that they eat from garbage or from soup kitchen. All the above mentioned, are creating the appropriate conditions for the perspective of revolution and subversion of the regime, which is responsible for the crisis and all the suffering.
The undertaking of authority and management of capitalistic crisis from Syriza after the elections of 25th of January 2015, doesn't substantially change the facts. Although the pre-electoral promises for abolition of memorandum conventions and reduction of the debt, the policy of the government of Syriza is not different from the policy of predecessor governments. This can be proved from the extension of the existing rescue program. Even if they use communicative tricks such as they don't name it memorandum or they don’t name Troika (IMF, European Union, And European Central Bank) but they name it institutions. The truth is that the government of Syriza has accepted the memorandum and the debt and will sign a new memorandum of rescue after the extension of the existing.
As a member of the Revolutionary struggle and as a political prisoner of prisons type C, I believe that the only way out is the choice of social and popular armed revolution and subversion can give a release over crisis and can reverse memorandum, loaning conventions and erase the debt. As a member of the Revolutionary struggle and as a political prisoner in prisons type C, during the struggle of political prisoners against special “counter-terror” legislations, special courts and special prisons, I participate since the 2nd of March in hunger strike. We claim:
1) The abolition of Α΄ «counter-terrorism» law of 2001, of the article 187 (criminal organization).
2) Abolition of Β΄ «counter-terrorism» law of 2004, of the article 187Α (criminal organization).
3) Abolition of the mask-law.
4) Abolition of the law for prisons type C΄.
5) Release of the condemned Savas Xiros for the revolutionary organization 17th November for health reasons.
